Maintenance
Ragdolls are lower maintenance than many other other pedigreed breeds. Because Ragdolls have a single layer of medium length silky fur, they are relatively easy to groom. Their luxurious soft fur requires minimal grooming to keep it looking its best! Because there is no thick undercoat, Ragdolls usually have reduced shedding and matting when compared to other double coated breeds. This means that, while Ragdolls do still shed and can develop tangles, it will be much less that of other higher maintenance breeds. With weekly or bi-weekly grooming, tangles rarely occur. Their wonderfully shaped faces also mean little to no tearing and tear stains, easy breathing, and less colds.
BIG AND BEAUTIFUL
Ragdolls are one of the largest cat breeds, with females weighing from 8 to 15 pounds and males being even larger at 12 to 20 pounds, (unaltered cats will weigh less than altered cats). Because Ragdolls are color point cats, they also have captivating, large oval shaped, vivid blue eyes. Their coat comes in many colors and patterns and it's exciting to watch their color darken as they grow.
PERSONALITY
Although every cat has it's own individual personality, Ragdolls are often called lap cats, or dog-like. They are calm and gentle. Most of them love human companionship and interactive play. Mild-mannered and friendly, they usually get along well with other pets and children.
